ACCEPTABLE RECYCLING ITEMS
- Newsprint
- Corrugated cardboard and pressboard
- Chipboard
- Magazines, junk mail, mixed office paper and shredded paper
- Steel and bimetal food and beverage cans

- Glass bottles and jars; clear, green, amber
- #1 PETE plastic containers; clear and green soda bottles
- #2 HDPE plastic containers; milk, juice, water, detergent bottles

- Used motor oil
- Waste anti-freeze
- Household batteries
You may commingle (mix) and drop off the following recyclable containers together:
- STEEL AND BI-METAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE CANS should not contain any other fabricated metal objects like pots, pans, trays, etc. All cans should be rinsed free of food and beverage residue.
- ALUMINUM BEVERAGE CANS should be rinsed of all residue.
- CLEAR, GREEN & BROWN GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS should be rinsed of food and beverage residue, lids removed. Only glass bottles and jars used to contain food and beverages should be dropped off.
Note: The following materials should be disposed of in the regular trash: flat glass such as window panes and mirrors, drinking glasses, ceramic glass such as Vision Ware, Pyrex coffee pots, light bulbs, pottery, metal of any kind, plastics, stones and dirt, Plexiglas and candle votive.
- #1 PETE PLASTIC SODA BOTTLES: clear and green. Other juice, liquor or water bottles made out of #1 PETE are OK. Do not mix with other type of plastics such as baby wipe containers, yogurt cups, microwave trays, plastic toys, clear food and/or salad trays and containers, etc.
- #2 HDPE PLASTIC MILK, WATER, JUICE, DETERGENT AND BLEACH CONTAINERS; do not mix with any other type of plastic as mentioned above, including motor oil containers.
- ALUMINUM BAKERY PLATES AND FOIL. The bakery plates and foil should be cleaned of food residue.
When you visit the Recycling Center, just drop off your commingled recyclable materials into the designated roll-off boxes. Please do not mix with paper recyclables.
Recyclable paper materials such as newsprint, cardboard, magazines, catalogues, and junk mail are to be separated and placed in the appropriate areas provided at the Recycling Center.
- NEWSPRINT: Any and all dry and unbleached newspapers including everything that is in the Sunday edition. Newspaper bundles are preferred, though loose papers will be accepted. Newspapers should be free of plastic, metals, cardboard, brown bags, magazines and Styrofoam.
- CORRUGATED CARDBOARD should be dropped off free of plastic wrapping, plastic peanuts and other plastic packing. Flatboard such as cereal boxes, pizza boxes, etc. are not recyclable. Large boxes should be flattened. Brown paper Kraft bags are acceptable and should be mixed in with the corrugated cardboard.
- CHIPBOARD – Includes food, cereal, and tissue boxes and other gray paperboard. Should not contain any plastic of wax bags.
- MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL, MIXED OFFICE PAPER AND SHREDDED PAPER should not contain any plastic, metal, carbon paper, newspapers, brown or plastic bags, cardboard, wax coated paper, loose leaf metal binders or blueprints.
Special recyclable materials such as waste motor oil, waste antifreeze and household batteries may be delivered as follows:
- Waste motor oil should be dropped off in plastic containers no larger than 5 gallons, and should not be mixed with antifreeze, degreasers, gasoline, etc.
- Waste antifreeze should be dropped off in plastic containers no larger than 5 gallons, and should not be mixed with motor oil, gasoline, degreasers, etc.
- Household batteries including all A, AA, AAA, C and D sizes, flashlight type batteries, hearing aid, watch, calculator and other button type batteries may be recycled. Lead acid car and hobby batteries should not be included.
